“BETWEEN SIERRA DE IRTA AND PRAT DE CABANES NATURE RESERVES AND THE MEDITERRANEAN SEA”
BARDOMUS is an estate purchased in 1989 by the Barchi Casali family, who were attracted by its unique physical geography and location. Situated on gentle, south-facing hills, it overlooks the Mediterranean Sea, is flanked by the nature reserves of Sierra de Irta and Prat de Cabanes, and stands between the towns of Alcalà de Xivert and Torreblanca (Castellón, Spain). As a result, it benefits from a unique microclimate, leading to the production of an oil with unique organoleptic properties thanks to the temperatures and gentle breezes that shelter the estate from frost and ice or damp.
The estate covers an area of 61 hectares, farmed by just two workers. In 2007, it was fully transformed, with its citrus fruit being replaced with olive groves. At present three varieties of olive trees are cultivated: the native Borriolenca and Canetera varieties and the much-appreciated, highly popular Arbequina variety.
Thanks to the estate’s special characteristics, the olives ripen very early and in mid October they are harvested ahead of time so as to take full advantage of the properties of our oil.
As small producers, we wish to highlight our full, sole dedication to the whole olive-growing and oil-producing process, of which we are very proud.
