“THE WORD ACEITE (OIL IN SPANISH) COMES FROM
THE ARABIC AZ-ZAIT, MEANING OLIVE JUICE”
The word “aceite” (oil in Spanish) comes from the Arabic AZ-ZAIT, meaning “olive juice”. Extra virgin olive oil is a natural juice pressed from the fruit of the olive tree, using mechanical or physical procedures.
It is this basic difference in the way in which the olives are pressed and the quality of the raw material that make extra virgin olive oil so superior to other well-known oils or fats, since it has organoleptic, nutritional and therapeutic properties that make it unique as an oil.
Of all the oils, it is the only one that can be eaten unrefined without its vitamins and fatty acids or its anti-oxidant qualities being affected. This makes it the best option for culinary use, given its numerous health benefits.
